It started with a story I’d been carrying since I was sixteen.
Luke and LeAnn weren’t just characters—they were the spark that lit my dream of becoming an author. And though the path to their finished book took many twists and turns, I can honestly say it was worth every single step.
Looking Back
Luke has always been strong, brave—a hero among men. From the start, I knew he was meant to be a Texas Ranger. Maybe it was all those ’90s episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger 😂, but mostly, it was because the Texas Rangers have long been men of integrity, with the reach and respect to uphold justice.
In early drafts, Luke was the oldest sibling, but as the series developed, Adam stepped into that role—though both were born on the same day. Funny how characters have a way of deciding these things for themselves.
LeAnn: From Damsel to Dynamite
LeAnn’s journey was very different. In the earliest version, she was a classic damsel in distress—beautiful, in need of rescue, and… well, not much else. It wasn’t that she was unlikable. She simply didn't have enough personality to like or dislike. And that was on me. 🫣
She was much like the early Disney princesses. 🤔
When I returned to the story determined to do it right, she practically bloomed on the page—strong, protective, stubborn, and undeniably feminine. The kind of woman I’d want as a friend.
In today’s world, femininity is sometimes mistaken for weakness, but I believe true strength comes from embracing the way God made us. Trusting and leaning on a man doesn’t make a woman weak—it makes her stronger. And when God is at the center of that relationship, the bond is unbreakable.
The Town That Stole My Heart
As much as I adore Luke and LeAnn, their story wouldn’t be the same without Riverview. A Georgia Princess for an Orphan wasn’t just a prequel—it was the foundation that made Riverview a living, breathing place I wanted to return to again and again.
By the time A Ranger for an Angel begins, Riverview is filled with warmth, love, and people who make it feel like home. The friendships, the struggles, the victories in faith—they’re all rooted in what Seth and Sophia built.
From Angel Ranger to A Ranger for an Angel
The story I first published as Angel Ranger has transformed into something almost unrecognizable. This final version made me laugh, cry, shiver at the villains, and—yes—practically swoon over Luke and LeAnn’s chemistry.
It became everything I wanted it to be… and so much more.
A Love That Lasts
Luke and LeAnn’s love isn’t just about attraction—it’s about mutual strength, faith, and the courage to stand together when the world tries to pull you apart.
Some stories you close and move on from.
This one lingers.
Because deep down, we all want to find the one who makes us feel strong, safe… and truly seen. ❤️
Which kind of heroine do you love most — the one who starts out strong, or the one who finds her strength along the way?
